Cement-effect flooring: Timber Collection
One of the latest interior design trends, inspired by New York factories is industrial design. Industrial design is highly common in urban spaces, where the designer is seeking a minimalistic look. Industrial design looks particularly stunning in loft areas with exposed brick and pipes but, can be incorporated into almost any space to achieve a similar effect.
Urbatek, a Porcelanosa company, created its own take on the industrial trend by releasing the ‘Timber’ collection. This cement looking, through-body porcelain tile is available in a plank format. To warm up the tile, Urbatek used Porcelanosa’s Par-Ker line as inspiration by finishing it in natural wood tones while still keeping the signature look of concrete.
Through-body porcelain tile is high performance and designed for durability, with less than 0.1% absorption rate and a fully glazed finish. The tile is designed so that the color is not only is visible on the top but also throughout it, resulting in less a less noticeable shade variance as the tile ages. Specific to the Timber Collection, it is also an anti-slip version, allowing the tile to be used outdoor or areas prone to wetness.
