Summertime Living and Outdoor Tiles

Summer is for living outside. It’s for enjoying the warm sun, sipping on an iced drink of your choice and taking simple moments to just unwind. Of course it helps when you have an outdoor space to lounge in. I myself love to create outdoor spaces that feel clean and stylish. One detail that can immediately create a clean look is adding tile to your outdoor space. And because tile comes in a plethora of looks, styles, colors and patterns, you can use it as a way to add whatever aesthetic you are wanting. Porcelanosa offers such a wide variety of outdoor tiles that add a soothing addition to your summer time relaxation. Here are a few tips on how to add the right tile to your outdoor space.

  1. Add decorative tiles for a huge impact. Small details can make a huge difference in any outdoor space. Whether you use patio tiles on your floor or walls, you can incorporate decorative tiles for a unique, personalized look like the Kathmandu Natural Home, which looks both serene and rugged. And don’t be afraid of color! It can transform a space in seconds.
  1. Consider tiles for your patio walls. The addition of walls or half-walls can help define your outdoor space. Depending on how high the walls are, they can give your patio a private, intimate feel. Add a colorful mosaic tile or pattern to your walls and you can make the space vibrant and inviting. Porcelanosa’s Imperia Mix Silver Blacks mosaics are fun and add the right amount of fun to a great outdoor scene.
  1. Create a natural look with wood-like tiles. Do you love the look of hardwood but don’t want to deal with hardwood? Wood-look tiles offer the best of both worlds like the Oxford Cognac Antislip shown at the top. Visually, they offer a similar look to a deck, but the tile will hold up to moisture and can be swept clean easily. Choose the proper sealant and your wood-look tiles will look like new for a long time.
  1. Choose vibrant colors to add personality. Your outdoor space is a perfect spot to introduce color into your design. You can opt for a neutral tile and then add pops of color with plants or accent vases. You can also go with a colorful tile design for a tropical, Moroccan vibe.

When designing your outdoor space, remember that it’s a reflection of the rest of your home. But saying that, have fun and think outside of the box. Allow yourself to add patterns and colors that you normally would be a little frightened of using in your home.

Until next time!
